Dr Steedman FREng

Scott has been Director of Group Strategy for international construction and management consultants High Point Rendel since November 2006, where he is responsible for leading the company’s strategic development process.

Formerly a Fellow and Lecturer in Engineering at Cambridge University, Scott has been working as a consulting engineer since 1990. He has specialised in risk and disasters, urban and geotechnical engineering and innovation strategy. Last year he was the only non-American to act as a task leader on the US Government’s Interagency Task Force investigating the flooding in New Orleans and was subsequently awarded the Outstanding Civilian Service Medal. Scott is a member of the Defence Scientific Advisory Council (DSAC), which advises the MoD on science, engineering and technology issues.

He is a Vice President of both the Institution of Civil Engineers and the Royal Academy of Engineering, where he is responsible for Communications and is Editor-in-Chief of the Ingenia magazine.
